Medical Care & Treatment Questions
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a comprehensive cardiovascular evaluation, review of your medical history, and discussion of any symptoms or concerns. Dr. Baiju or our team will explain any recommended tests and create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. We take time to ensure all your questions are answered.
What cardiovascular services do you provide?
We provide comprehensive cardiovascular and vascular services including:
- • Interventional Cardiology: Angioplasty, stenting, and atherectomy procedures
- • Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Treatment: Minimally invasive procedures to prevent amputations
- • Vascular Care: Treatment for varicose veins, including VenaSeal• procedures
- • Diagnostic Testing: EKGs, stress tests, CT scans, MRI, and ultrasounds
- • Preventive Care: Risk assessment and lifestyle counseling
What diagnostic tests might I need?
Depending on your symptoms and medical history, Dr. Baiju may recommend various diagnostic tests:
- • Electrocardiogram (EKG): Records electrical activity of your heart
- • Stress Tests: Evaluates heart function during exercise
- • Holter Monitoring: 24-48 hour heart rhythm monitoring
- • Ultrasounds: Examines blood flow in arteries and veins
- • Ankle Brachial Index (ABI): Screens for peripheral artery disease
- • CT/MRI Scans: Detailed imaging of heart and blood vessels
Are your procedures minimally invasive?
Yes! Dr. Baiju specializes in minimally invasive catheterization procedures performed in our outpatient catheterization lab. These procedures can be completed in a timely manner, often within the same day. Conscious sedation is provided so patients are comfortable and relaxed, with most having no memory of the procedure and being able to resume daily activities almost immediately.
What is Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)?
Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) affects more than 8 million Americans and occurs when arteries in the legs and arms become blocked or narrowed. This can cause pain, cramping, difficulty walking, and in severe cases, may lead to amputation if left untreated. Dr. Baiju specializes in PAD prevention and treatment, using minimally invasive procedures to restore blood flow and prevent limb loss.
